[S1] I can't believe it took me so long to discover this game

    Posted: 12 Apr 2021 05:05 AM PDT

I purchased life is strange after seeing it on sale for £3 the other day. It's rare to see a game on the Xbox store with consistent 5 star reviews. I figured it must be a good game, even though it didn't look like the type of game I typically play. I managed to complete the first game last night and I'm honestly just so blown away.

It's one of the most beautiful stories ive ever seen told through a video game. I felt genuinely upset when I didn't manage to save Kate, or when Chloe asked me to give her the overdose.

Episode 5 was insanely fun, but damn it took me about 10 minutes to decide whether to save Chloe or Arcadia bay.

The game was so good that I've purchased before the storm and lis2. Can't wait to play those and true colours when it's released. I just can't believe the game is 6 years old and I had never heard of it. Instantly became one of the best games I've played in a long long time

[ALL] A weird thought, maybe... I dunno

    Posted: 12 Apr 2021 03:42 AM PDT

After playing BTS and LiS I guess the most horrifying thought that I have in my head is the amount of time Chloe spent looking for Rachel and she was in the Junkyard the whole time, that must have fucked Chloe up a whole lot more when that sunk in.

[ALL] I want to make a Life is Strange Comic, do I have to get permission from Dontnod?

    Posted: 12 Apr 2021 11:11 AM PDT

I'm not entirely sure yet how I want to do it, or with whom, but I thought it would be really cool to team up with a great fanfic writer to make a LiS Fan Comic, just for the love to the characters and the game. But If I'd get sued, I definitely wouldn't do it.

Of course we can't talk about making an LiS Fan Comic without mentioning the ones from Titancomics. Are they official or unofficial? How did they do it? I noticed that they credited Dontnod, etc. in the first Pages of every book I think, but for everything else I'm kinda out of the loop here. Appreciate any answers on this and your thoughts on the idea of making a Fan Comic!

[ALL] Do you have a Life is Strange tattoo(s)?

    Posted: 12 Apr 2021 02:48 AM PDT

I'm considering getting a tattoo inspired by the Life is Strange series in the near future, and I've been browsing other people's work (everyone looks great, btw!).

Kinda made me curious about how many people have paid tribute to the games in this way. Some may consider tattoos to be more of a serious thing than others, but either way, the game must mean a lot to someone if they decide to get it inked into their skin.

Feel free to leave comments about your own LIS tattoos/plans, I'd love to hear about them!

[All] Could LIS 1 alternate timeline have been an option at the end?

    Posted: 12 Apr 2021 01:22 PM PDT

Could the alternate timeline where Max gets William to take the bus and Chloe is paralyzed have been an endgame option? If Max used a childhood picture to go back and save William at the end, wouldn't the storm never happen? While it was sad that Chloe got Max to overdose her, at least they got to see each other before Chloe's death, unlike in "Save Arcadia Bay", and the town would be safe. Am I missing something?

    [S1] LIS1 is a story about...

    Posted: 12 Apr 2021 07:24 AM PDT

Grieving. Max squandered the opportunities to reconnect with Chloe prior to the bathroom death; she was timid and had no idea of what to say, or how to do it. Max never got to spend time with her best friend again. But that fateful day occurs, dashing all opportunity.

When grieving and even after, people wish they took the opportunity to do more with that person; talk, have fun, create memories or just being in their presence. But people don't get that. Hindsight is nasty, and you have to come to terms with your decisions... except Max.

Max gets to embrace that very opportunity! She gets a whole week to do all that; talk, laugh, make those memories -- be there for Chloe like she never was over the past 5 years. Max gets to see the kind of woman her best friend had grown up to be. All of her quirks, her thoughts, what she liked, what she didn't. She got those memories, and they will never go.

But nothing is perfect, there was trauma along the way. But I feel Max, nay, most people, would take that option for someone dear to their life ("What I wouldn't give..."). In some ways, it was like a dream. But we must wake up from our dreams, so we can continue to live, for ourselves, and for those no longer with us.

We reach the end of the week. The bell is ringing. Time is up! Max got to be there for Chloe, more than she ever has before. The memories will last a lifetime. But grief is broken down into multiple stages. With Chloe's passing, are we ready? Do we accept it, or are we in denial?

[S2 E2] fuck this game makes u think way more than the first one

    Posted: 11 Apr 2021 10:21 PM PDT

I got Chris hit by the car in my game and I feel really guilty about it. Followed rules way too strictly and kept secrets too much I feel really bad. I bought the snowman but I also stole the yoyo cos Daniel mightve liked it more but he was too upset about Chris, it sucked... I regret not playing Captain Spirit (sadly kept having errors when downloading in PS store) or watching the playthrough. Would've influenced my decisions around Chris and his dad way more.

I've seen many complaints about the gameplay not being as engaging and while I agree I find it interesting that the choices are much more nuanced. I like that even the small choices actually influence bigger outcomes. It's also quite meaningful that while Sean can make choices, he still doesn't have complete control over what Daniel does. Can't wait for EP 3!!! (But I'll be taking a break first because I'm still really bummed about Chris being hit by that car haha)

[NO SPOILERS] AO3 fanfic posting help

    Posted: 12 Apr 2021 07:29 AM PDT

Hi. I've been working on a book length fan fic for months and I need some advice on posting it. I always read on Wattpad but I haven't delved into AO3 even though it seems like a lot is on there. It's overwhelming. I need some advice on how to get the most visibility when I finally upload. What's effective tagging? Title advice for searches? I'm just nervous that my work will get lost in the sea of stuff and all of my hard work won't get read.
