[NO SPOILERS] What are the LiS comics about?

    Posted: 03 Mar 2020 12:53 PM PST

I've been meaning to read the comics for a long time now (not really finding the time because of uni) without knowing too much what they're about. I guess they, or at least some of them, are the same story as the game, maybe with some differences in the storytelling, which I find pretty interesting. However, I've seen some covers with Max, Chloe and Rachel on them, so maybe there are also alternate universe spin offs? I have mixed feelings about this, because, if executed well, it could be a cool thing to read. But Decknine already give Rachel her own personality (which I didn't really like), so in the comics they probably have to go with that. Anyway, I'd like to know more or less what they're about so I can decide if they're worth it for me.

[S1] This is what I mean by realism

    Posted: 03 Mar 2020 04:54 AM PST

At risk of sounding callous about real life tragedy (I'm not, I have people n Nashville and first thing I did was check social media for sign they were well), I couldn't help but think of our favorite game in context when I saw this come across. For those outside the US or who are in the US but not following news closely, a severe tornado (I haven't seen it scored yet, but since the score is a measure of destruction not intensity odds are its gonna be a 4 or 5) went through downtown Nashville yesterday and destroyed at least forty structures.

A quick google shows me that the population of Nashville proper is just a hair under 700,000 people. The current death toll from a tornado that ran through downtown of one of the most active night life cities in America?

Nine, as of this writing. Spread out over a couple dozen miles east of Nashville as well so the affected population from which these are drawn is probably closer to a million.

Infrastructure, engineering, architecture all matter quite a bit. Modern buildings are built to standards set by regulation and insurance, older buildings are brought up to them. The idea of a whole town, even a small one, just getting insta-gibbed by a tornado of basically any size is grossly improbable if not genuinely impossible.

Mostly, what I'm saying, is DN picked the wrong sort of calamity if they wanted to kill an entire town. Granted, nothing is better and sexier than weather for emotional imagery, but ugh, never letting go of how daft it is the way they treat the consequences of the storm. It's as if to say they don't think 50 or 100 people and most of the town's structures is enough tragedy to force a decision.

[ALL] help with Life is Strange 2

    Posted: 03 Mar 2020 12:55 AM PST

On March 11th, 2019, I decided to play life is strange season one chapter 1 as it was free and why not? I liked chapter one and added the rest of the chapters to a wish list along with before the storm. 20 days ago, I bought the rest of the first season chapters with before the storm. I finished the first season a few days ago. I finished before the storm not even 24 hours ago as I'm posting this. Anyways, I decided that since I'm sorta on a "Life is strange binge(?)", I minus well do the second one. I never planned to play the second season, as I'm not a big fan of new characters, and I got used to Max and Chloe being the characters I hear about most, and it's difficult for me to remove what I'm used to from a game and basically make it a new game. Anyways, I'm playing the second one, and I'm currently at the bus ride of the first episode, where Seàn is telling Daniel a story.

My question is, when I first loaded the game. I got a message on screen, "Did you play the first Season?" And "Did you sacrifice Arcadia bay?" I sacrificed Chloe first, then Arcadia bay just to see what happens. But I told the game I didn't sacrifice Arcadia bay as I didn't the first time. So, am I missing out on much for that choice? More specifically, does saying I did sacrifice Arcadia bay add enough different content to make playing the game a second time worth it?
