    Hey Redditors and Life is Strange fans. I caught a video on YouTube that detailed depressing moments in video games, and on that list was Kate Marsh's suicide.

    Tbh, I'm not surprised. I remember experiencing it for the first time, and the way they executed it was superb. It's not treated as a sudden event, but a build-up of various acts of bullying. You see how Max's prior interactions can have an effect on Kate (even minor ones like getting rid of the vandalism on the mirror), and the amazing voice acting makes it feel like a genuine conversation between two people desperately trying to come to some common ground.

    I remember almost having to take a break after finishing Episode 2 b/c of how well done it was on an emotional level.

    [ALL] My 8 year old is asking me a lot of questions about LiS because all 3 games are installed on our XBox. I'm considering letting him watch me play Before the Storm but I wanted people to remind me what mature-content moments I should watch out for.

    For some background, my kid is pretty smart and mature for his age; he reads above his age level, and he knows basically what sex is and when it's being referred to in media, and he also has a cursory understanding of what drugs are.

    He knows all the cusswords and where he should specifically avoid using them, I don't really care about that part.

    I told him those games are not for kids because they have mature content. So he asked me what I like about them. I told him that I think they're fun, and have very good characters and good lessons. He probed on a lot, and with LiS being one of my favorite fandoms, I kinda thought maybe he's okay to see one of them.

    I pitched out the idea of S1 because of how much of the plot revolves around sexual assault and the drug trade. It's a bit more nuanced than the concepts he understands and I don't think we're quite there yet.

    I also pitched out S2 because of the specifics of race versus police, Sean actively having sex in the plot, working at a pot farm, and because of slightly more intense violence including Sean's eye injury. Plus I'm not really sure he would get exactly what's wrong with the relationship between Daniel and the church.

    Before the Storm seems a bit more conceptually mild and more focused on the emotions and situations young people face. The most mature things that come to mind are a bit of basic underage drinking, Chloe having pot on her when searched by David, and Sera's addiction problems, which are pretty solidly depicted as a bad thing that ruined her life.

    Are there major mature moments I'm forgetting in BtS? It's my favorite in the series and it would be cool to show it to him, and I know that only I really know what's right for my child to be exposed to, but I was just looking for a quick refresher of the more mature moments in the game before I decide to let him get invested.

    [No spoilers]W10 technical difficulties

    I'm playing for the first time and I'm having some trouble. I've got a pretty decent PC. After playing for a little while the framerate starts to drop and the audio starts cutting out. Eventually I'm getting framerates in the teens with no audio and the subtitles stop working. When it happens I have to restart the game from the desktop. I'm running the game at low settings at this point and I have to wonder what I'm supposed to do to get this game playable.

    I found a long thread on steam about GPU temps, but I don't think that's my problem. My 1080ti gets up to 58c according to gpu-z.
