    I was thinking, why Deck Nine decided to make this new Life is Strage Remastered game? This game will have almost entirely remade graphics. They are remaking almost every 3D model, new hi-res textures and other assets. And they are reassembling it in a completely new UE4 game engine (original LIS was UE3). It's not just some high res pack for an original game. It requires a lot of effort and resources.

    So, why a small indie game developer Deck Nine with only one completed project in their portfolio decided to entirely remade 7 years old (visually beautiful) game, made by another developer Dontnod? While working on their only (?) project LIS: True Colors. Why they are spreading their resources?

    Because they need hi-res Blackwell Academy, hi-res Junkyard, hi-res Price household and hi-res Arcadia Bay for a reason. They are going to reuse all those remade hi-res assets in their new game. This is the only way to make some real profit of this work they do.

    I've had a quick browse and I don't believe there's a separate thread for this yet, however I apologise if there already is.

    Something that stuck out to me on the official steam page for the remastered games was the bullet point: "Distinct licensed soundtrack and original scores". Maybe it's the pessimist in me and maybe I'm just interpreting the word wrong or looking to deep into things, but the word "Distinct" suggests that the licensed tracks wont be identical to the original, especially as it clarifies "original" for the score right after.

    The song from the remastered trailer is also interesting, as it's an unreleased song from an unknown artist/group. And the lyrics are more than fitting..."holding onto hurricanes". Makes me wonder whether this is a slice of what is likely to be the new licensed songs.

    With the way copyright and royalties etc work in the music industry nowadays, it does not really surprise me that some/all of the original licensed tracks (more likely in S1 than BtS) will not be possible to include. If that's the case, I'm 99% certain it would be completely out of D9's hands.

    Again, might be reading too much into nothing, but I would be pretty disappointed if that's the case, as the licensed songs are such an integral part to the first game in particular. It would be a pretty impossible task to replace those songs, even though I very much enjoyed the trailer song - the point being it could be filled with all my favourite songs in the world but I would still prefer the originals.

    I personally am SUPER excited ! Probably in an unhealthy way 😅. I was watching the stream and I was shaking so hard. My right arm still is 20+ hours later 🤣.

    The new character looks awesome and her power is gonna be amazing ! I had tears in my eyes when I saw Steph ! I am so happy Katy Bentz got to be in the new game. And then they announced the remastered versions of my 2 favorite games of all time !! I was dying inside 🤣.

    So yeah, I'm excited ! Anyone else ? Also if anyone has some spare change so I can buy the game, hit me up 😉 (I'm joking of course... or not 😂)
