[S1] just finished S1 of LIF for the first time yesterday, anyone want to talk? Posted: 18 Apr 2021 09:59 AM PDT I remember when the game originally came out and I thought it was a generic you choose game, as the ones I had played before it thoroughly unimpressed me. I saw it was on the Xbox store for 3 dollars and figured fuck it, it's on sale, and I got shit else to do. All I really knew about the game is the main character like photography, so I had a lot to learn about it. I played through the first episode and thought it was generic and boring, aside from the snowfall and Nathan in the bathroom with a gun but it really wasn't enough to intrigue me. But lucky for me I have a policy that I always give media at least 2 hours of my time before stopping. And holy shit am I glad I followed It! The second episode is where I got obsessed with this game. It definitely started off very slow, but the whole Rachel thing caught my eye and I started to become more interested in what was going on in Acadia bay. Then I saw Kate jump from the roof and I literally started screaming. I went up to the roof and at that moment decided I was going to save Kate, and throw myself into a wall if I didn't. I helped Kate down and when I finally came to, I had my knees locked so hard that when I relaxed them, I fell over and literally felt the swelling in my legs from the influx of blood. I knew I needed to figure out what would drive kate to kill herself and at that moment I started loving this game. I started thinking about this game outside of playing it, deciding who I could trust, who would be a good ally, and whoo I needed to stay away from. So of course I played the rest of the game, the plot became more and more facinateing, and I freaked the fuck out when chole got shot and then Jefferson walked out of the dark. I. freaked. the. fuck. out. I played until the end loving it all, and then I was at the lighthouse with Chloe. This game gave me an experience literally no other piece of art has ever given me. When Chloe started speaking about undoing her death I started bawling. In all my time of playing video games there have only been 3 that have made me cry, ocarina of time, rdr1, and rdr2. But those games did nothing compared to how much I cried at the last decision of LIS. I deadass sat there for a full hour trying to muster up the will to make a decision. But how could I? Sacrafice all the characters in acradia bay, all of whom I had grown to love? Or Chloe? And when the time came, I actually started shaking, and it took every fiber of my will to press the button. My hand came on and off the controller, and I did it. Max and Chloe said their final goodbyes and I was on the floor curled up in a ball. I'm not kidding when I say any of this, I have never. EVER. Been this emotionally invested in fictional characters at any point in my life. Even writing this post I was tearing up a little bit. I love this game so much and I have decided it is my favorite piece of art ever created. [link] [comments]

[S2] One issue with a character Posted: 18 Apr 2021 07:09 AM PDT I've just finish the game, overally I liked it, not as much as the first one, but still. However, I personally couldn't stand how the game tried over and over to make me feel sympathetic for Karen. I understand, that not everyone is meant to be a parent and the society with a conservative approach of her parents contributed to her mental state. But still, that's not the justification to ghost your own children. Nothing is. I wouldn't mind, if she bailed on her parents, started the life she wanted alone, if her choices did only affect herself, with children, that's certainly not the case. If you're a parent, you must take responsibility for them, did she even pay any of the child support? Just imagine, if Karen was a man and used the same sort of arguments- that, he wasn't meant to be a father, his parents expected differently from him, he needed freedom etc.- most of the people would call him a selfish coward, I don't see how Karen is any different. [NO SPOILERS] Are all games in the same universe? Posted: 18 Apr 2021 06:23 AM PDT I play the first game three times and it's my favorite game of all time. But I'm not sure about play other games too. Are they good as the first game? And my question is all games in the same universe? And if they are can we see Max, Chloe, or other game characters in other games. Like even for a second that's can be so amazing. [link] [comments]
[S1] Looking for fanfiction recommendations Posted: 18 Apr 2021 12:52 PM PDT I'm looking for some good post bae stories. More specifically any where they don't try to go back in time to fix everything. Anybody got anything? [link] [comments]
[ALL] Where to get LiS Partners in time comics Posted: 18 Apr 2021 07:41 AM PDT While ago got the boxed set of the first 3. All websites don't sell the first 3 of the Partners in Time season and only the fourth one and Forbidden Planet says they are discontinued, most websites don't have a trace and it's not like I can walk into Forbidden planet to check in person. I am just looking for the first Partners in Time book and possibly with the Pirate Cover if possible [link] [comments]
Finished the Life is Strange 2 and have one issue with it Posted: 18 Apr 2021 06:59 AM PDT The game was good, not as good, as the first one, but still okay. However, I couldn't stand how the game tried over and over to feel sympathetic for Karen. I get, that not everyone wants to be a mother and the society and environment contributed a lot to her situation, but damn, that's not the justification, to ghost our own children. Nothing is. Did she even pay any of the child support? Just think about, if Karen was a man and used the same sort of arguemnts- that he wasn't ment to be a father, he wanted freedom etc. Everybody would just call that person a selfish coward, I don't see, how Karen is any different. Posted: 17 Apr 2021 08:55 PM PDT Welcome to the second round of 2! Last round Faith was eliminated with 23.2% of the vote. Yesterday we started with the sequel to the first game and Captain spirit this may be a controversial decision but due to it tying directly into 2 and it's free I will include it in the season 2 tournament. If you disagree with my decision let me know and if enough people agree I'll remove it from the next poll and will instead make it the 4th choice in the finals round. Please let me know what you think! Remember to vote for your Least favorite episode! You have 24 hours to vote Winners: Dark Room and Brave New World Eliminated: Faith-23.2% [link] [comments]
Posted: 17 Apr 2021 04:15 PM PDT Three new LIS games have been announced, and they all look very exciting. What I wanna know is which game has the most hype. [link] [comments]
[ALL] I read to the end of Tracks this evening Posted: 17 Apr 2021 03:20 PM PDT As I'm discussing the comics which draws elements from all LiS games, I figured an ALL tag would be appropriate. I've not been consistent with the comics with lots of time between reading issues, so I've skimmed through all of Strings and Tracks again just to make sure all the details are fresh in my mind. However, I don't know what to make of the cliffhanger. What I did pick up is that Pixie knows more than she's letting on. I don't know if I've missed any details that explain this. For those who've come this far, what is your reading of the story so far? On a side note, I love the appearance of the blogger from LiS2 and other little details, like Chloe's comment about Rachel's "thing" with trees! [link] [comments] |
