[NO SPOILERS] It's that time again.. so thank you DontNod and DeckNine truly

    Posted: 23 Dec 2019 09:18 AM PST

I always hate this month since it makes me feel even more like an outsider and since all my friends dropped me and I don't talk to my father anymore, it's been a really hard and lonely month for me. So a week ago I started replaying all LiS games and it made me feel a bit like I had friends again and helped me calm my mind with the beautiful music, visuals and storyline. It's the only game that's allowed me for a bit of escapism. So thank you so much DontNod and Deck9 for making this christmas a little more bearable and a little less lonely. I hope all dev teams and this whole fandom has an amazing christmas and an amazing 2020 ❤

[ALL] Any intel on Life is Strange 3 yet?

    Posted: 23 Dec 2019 01:32 PM PST

I saw a couple things today that hinted at the details of LIS3 being known already - someone said that they have the info on who the game was about, which superpower was involved and who would be making an appearance. I was just wondering if any of those details would be okay for the fans to know at this stage and if anyone here has heard anything about it and could maybe share?

[ALL] My thoughts after finally playing through all of LiS 2.

    Posted: 23 Dec 2019 10:44 AM PST

So first off, I wasn't really into the idea of new characters for LiS, so I wasn't interested enough to play the game as each episode came out, and rather decided to play once all episodes were out and on a discount.

In short: Overall I enjoyed the game, some episodes I liked a lot, some were "meh", particularly the finale kinda disappointed me with its content and length.

But 4 things really bothered me in this game and brought my enjoyment down significantly, and I feel like I have to get it out of my system, so a warning - complaining ensues:

1 - The biggest problem for me was the main incident behind them running away. I really don't think it was executed well enough to get me to buy Sean wanting to escape to Mexico. I thought it was silly to go through all that danger (travelling on foot in forests, living in a cabin during winter for like a month while Daniel is sick, etc.) because of what happened, and I wanted him to surrender the whole game.

It really puzzled me why the police haunted Sean and Daniel like they were 100% sure they were guilty. The cop's camera caught that some sort of blast blew him away, as well as the surrounding area. Did they really come to the conclusion that one of the kids used a force blast that killed a cop and knocked over a car? I don't think so, since when Sean is arrested the first time, the cop doesn't even really go into asking how the hell the cop died. So what evidence do they have against them really?

And even if I bought the idea that somehow they could get convicted with just that "bizarre" footage as evidence, Daniel is 9 so it's not like he would get locked up, and Sean is also a minor. So when it came to the final decision it was a no brainer for me, cause it's something I wanted to do since episode 1... "surrender". They even confirmed what I was thinking the whole time in episode 5, "Daniel is kid so he would go free and live with his grandparents."

    1. Karen - I went full on "fuck Karen" route in episode 4 cause I found her reason for ghosting her kids for 8 years just ridiculous, and I liked how the game let's you reject her... BUT then in episode 5 the game ignores that and automatically makes Sean and Karen close and friendly and I hated that. Sure you can not hug her, but I didn't even want to be friendly or grateful to her in anyway. I genuinely restarted a checkpoint at one point when one dialogue option led to Sean holding her hand, but then the other one also led to that, so I was fuming.

    2. Another thing that really made me go "huh, really?" was the money... The whole episode 3 is about you earning money, in episode 4 you get a choice to give away some of the money or keep it. I kept it, thinking we were probably gonna need it more, and in episode 5 the money doesn't go into play at all, even though you still have it in your inventory... I thought that was a real shame since the whole money management part from episode 1 was a real highlight for me.

    3. Some choices being very vague. Like that was fine when we could just rewind and try something else. But when there is no rewind you have to give me a bit more than just "vague statement that can mean 5 different things." E.g. when that weed guy gave Cass a minor slap on the head, and you get "ignore" or "confront." I need to know what "confront" means exactly... does that mean "tell him to cut it out," "threaten," "insult," maybe "slap him back" or something like that?

Anyway, that's it from me. Again, had a good time, but it really fell short in some avoidable areas for me. I used to be a regular here before LiS2 so I was wondering what are the general feelings on LiS 2 now that it's all done? For me it just didn't come close to that LiS 1 and BtS magic (by magic I mean spending weeks depressed and constantly thinking about the game).

    [S2 E3] Romance

    Posted: 23 Dec 2019 05:53 AM PST

Hello everyone, I've just finished LiS2 which overall is an improvement over previous games. Anyway - I was trying to romance Cassidy in episode 3 but failed.

Can you highlight what are crucial decisons to romance her, hopefully all the way to the Parting Ways ending?

[ALL] Here is my review of Life Is Strange 2 that I’ve been too busy to write.

    Posted: 23 Dec 2019 11:46 AM PST

    https://thegamermoment.wordpress.com/2019/12/23/life-is-strange-2-does-not-deserve-the-life-is-strange-name-life-is-strange-2-review/

    It's an 8 minute read. TL;DR:

-LiS2 doesn't deserve to be called LiS

    -good game, bad LiS game

-voice acting good but not great (over acted at times) -characters are good overall. I don't mind Daniel sing annoying. Adults are stupid.

-not enough time with characters because too many locations

-some plot decisions don't make much sense. Some stuff, like Hair cuts, don't even matter, so there is an illusion of choice until episode 5.

-I like the slow pacing, but the time jumps SUCK. The release schedule was also stupid.

-there are some cool mechanics that get introduced that never return

    -fantastic music score as always

    -good visuals but still glitchy

-DONTNOD needs to take some steps back for LiS3

    Game score: 70

LiS score (how much it lives up to original): 40

    Average score: 55

What do you agree/disagree with? Any suggestions to ways I can improve my writing? Be civil please.
