    [NO SPOILERS] 6-3-5-3 Fanfiction updated

    Posted: 04 Jun 2020 10:13 AM PDT

Hello all, I hope you are all keeping safe wherever you are.

Given there is no sticky for this I'd just thought I'd let you know if you are interested that my fanfiction six-three-five-three has been updated to chapter 14.

    https://archiveofourown.org/works/22925398/chapters/54797587

It's shameless Chasefield with a good amount of fluff and smut; but please do note it does contain scenes of violence, abuse and torture.

As an aside, a sticky for this sort of thing would be great so I don't feel so awkward about it! :)

[NO SPOILERS] If there is ever a Life is Strange 3

    Posted: 04 Jun 2020 09:07 AM PDT

If there is ever a Life is Strange 3, I think it should be set in 2020 against the backdrop of pandemic and now civil unrest. I hope that doesn't sound cynical. It would be difficult to do right. It would be way more ambitious than LiS2. Of course it would probably need some separation from actual current events in time, but I think a game with the character and storytelling style of Life is Strange set in these uncertain times could do them justice and help people process the events. I might be wrong. Some may hate this idea, but it's been something that my brain has been mulling the past few weeks.

[ALL] [Spoilers] I didn’t really like Before the Storm. Can someone help me like it a bit more?

    Posted: 04 Jun 2020 02:08 AM PDT

I don't know how many spoilers there will be in the thread so... spoiler tag.

Well, title. I LOVED LiS so much that I bought and played BtS as soon as it launched. The first two chapters were a BLAST, but chapter three felt... wrong? Rushed? Disconnected?

I don't know how to put this, but it just felt disappointing. In the scene where Chloe talks to her mother, I was sure it was a dream. That whole sequence and the end was like "okay, when does she wake up?" And then that's it.

It sorta burst the bubble for me. So much that I didn't play LiS 2. Heck, I didn't even finish Captain Spirit.

That's about it, honestly. Anything comes to mind that might help me like BtS a bit more?

[ALL] Life is Strange 2 - Does anyone else feel like it's one of the saddest games?

    Posted: 03 Jun 2020 09:38 AM PDT

What do you do when you've finished Life is Strange 2 and you literally feel shattered? What to do next when it seems like you just can't get past all the overwhelming emotions and feelings it evoked in you? I'll tell you, you obsess over it. You can't think about anything else, you search up other people's opinion and game theories. You go to YouTube to re-watch moments and listen to the soundtrack, you watch game plays, you join Reddit and you soon notice that pretty much all your browsing history is filled with the title Life is Strange 2. Then, you wait a decent amount of time, and replay the whole game again haha.

In all seriousness, it is hard to move on from this mind blowing game and slightly overwhelming to write about it. I've finished playing it for the first time in 2 days probably around a month ago, did all of the above then 3 weeks later went back to play it again because I just had to. I felt like I needed to, this game was all I could think of and I had to re-experience some moments if not all, once again.

I am not able to tell you in words what an experience this game was for me and how much it moved me, touched me and affected me on an emotional level. Its story line, Sean, the Diaz family overall really, the soundtrack and the message about the importance and power of brotherhood reaches to the deepest point of your soul and rips into pieces. So that's why I'm asking if anyone feels like Life is Strange 2, it's just one of the saddest games? I obviously can't state that it is the saddest and period since I haven't played every other video game that's out there, but would you agree that it definitely makes it into a list of saddest video games, on quite a high position as well.

If you take a step back to really analyse the overall plot and what happens to the brothers, especially to Sean, you'll find it frankly, stomach turnigly tragic. I did at least. The social injustice and just simply him enduring generally speaking the worst of what society, people, and life from every point of view throw at him, still having to carry on, trying not be broken is truly incomprehensibly devastating. He stayed with me for the longest time and is still very much so deeply settled next to my heart as a video game character, and I'm sure he'll continue to be. There were times when all I wanted was to give him a long hug, I really felt like he just needed love and someone to take care of him the way he takes care of Daniel. The complexity of his character's writing, how insanely strong, fierce, powerful and marking he becomes throughout his evolution as a person, he is the absolute representation as I've mentioned above of the power and importance of brotherhood which is why he's really one of the many reasons why this game is such a beautiful and ripping experience. How very much I honestly wish all of us could have a friend or brother as selfless and caring like him in our life.

Altogether, I think Life is Strange 2 is honestly a life experience. It succeeds to be a tremendously powerful and emotionally draining experience too. They're made for that, that's exactly what the creators are striving for I think, and they're doing a hell of a job. The cinematic experience it offers along with the message of each episode, the soundtrack, story line, characters, dialogues we participate in as players are really meant to be meditated and processed upon. Which marks so beautifully the uniqueness of the game, and series. The soundtrack since I've mentioned it, both chosen songs and especially the original soundtrack by Jonathan Moralli, makes me not be able to fully express the magnitude of bittersweetness, melancholy, tragism, hope, warmth, heart and power it adds to the whole story. I can not get over it, you just wanna get lost in it and listen to it, on and on. It becomes such an amazing trade mark of both the game and the series.Moments of the game like, Sean and Daniel highlighting just how strong their bond is, them with their father, them with their mom in episode 5 lighting up sky lanterns, with probably one of the most beautiful and heart-wrenchingly powerful piece of music of the entire season playing along in the background, a scene beyond heartfelt and visually stunning. I simply can not put into words what that piece of music called Fireflies evokes and does to both that part and the player. It feels almost transcendent and somewhat mystical with an ethereal layer. That moment and music alone is a spiritual experience itself. Sean in episode 4 telling Nicholas with his voice cracking that he just wants his brother, or just Daniel pouring the sand from the envelope he received from his brother in his hand during Parting Ways ending, completely shatters you and makes you fully attached and hooked as a player bringing an infinite amount of realism, depth and sadness.

These were all the reasons why this game stood out to me personally. The fact that in the end, pretty much all endings and how you interpret just the overall story are open ones I think is fantastic. As I've mentioned throughout this post I found the game and the unfairness of its whole situation beyond devastating and consuming, psychologically, morally and emotionally, but the fact, that it actually has enough power to go afar from feelings and memories staying with you and marking you for the longest time, makes the whole experience heartbreakingly beautiful and ripping. You're fully aware of the fact that it's just a video game and everything presented it's fully hypothetical yet it still destroys you. If you got until this point thanks for hearing me out, and please do feel free to let me know if you can relate to what I've described or if you've had a similar experience. xx

    [S1 E5] Max's Nightmare

    Posted: 03 Jun 2020 10:21 AM PDT

Why does Max's nightmare only contain male characters from the story? Aside from Chloe in the Dark Room, of course. The stealth sequence oddly doesn't have Victoria, Taylor, Kate or any female characters from the story, are there any reason as to why this is the case?
