[ALL] This trailer is an underrated masterpiece. The song, the art, the expression, the slowness, it's just an emotional vibe. Life is strange has pulled my heart strings in 40 seconds.

[S1] Am I the only one who thinks these are plot holes?

    Posted: 20 Jun 2021 01:30 PM PDT

Okay, let me start by saying that I really loved the game (S1) and I just finished it today. But I found two things to be very puzzling/frustrating that I kept repeating to myself "just, how can it be this way?!"

First, in E5, at the end, Max and Chloe think that the action of saving Chloe from Nathan at the start causes (in one way or another) the tornado. But the game already established that even when Max was in the alternative timeline when she never saved Chloe from Nathan (because of Chloe's accident), whales were shown to be dead and the tornado would've still happened. So we can conclude with certainty that even if Max doesn't save Chloe from Nathan, the tornado can still happen.

Second, in E4/E5, when Max decides to save the paralyzed Chloe. Why wouldn't Max go back to before Chloe's accident to save her, instead of going back to before William's? I feel she had no justification at all even with the game's own logic.

She had a photo album (so she could find the target time) and the game already established that she can use photos (since she's willingly focusing this time to go back, so she could just try at least with another photo first). Even if we assume Max never took another photo with Chloe after William's avoided accident and Chloe's accident, Max must have taken some other photo alone that she could get and then try to find Chloe and save her that way.

But perhaps most importantly, the logic of "William didn't die" causes "Chloe gets paralyzed" is so flawed because these two events are separated by huge amount of time, and so you could change one event in the unbroken chain of events from one to the other and therefore break that causality. Just like William buying a car caused him to get into an accident but Max didn't have to go back and stop him from buying a car, but simply stop him from using it that day. Similarly, to save Chloe from her accident, you don't have to go back and let William die, but just change one cause (you would choose the least bad thing to change) and you would avoid the timeline branch when Chloe gets paralyzed.

You could say "but then other bad things would happen" but that's even more flawed. There is no reason to assume that all time branches are equally bad. Some rare ones will have super bad (or super good things) but there is no "gambler's fallacy" of "if you win the lottery now (unlikely good event), you're more likely to get hit by an asteroid (unlikely bad event) next".

I'm sorry for the wall of text, just had to get this off my mind by putting it out there. I'd love to hear what other people think about this! Maybe I'm missing something obvious or misunderstanding some important aspect of Max's superpower. Thanks everybody!

[NO SPOILERS] I'm new to these games, can someone maybe give me some details on them?

    Posted: 20 Jun 2021 08:44 AM PDT

Hi, after the Nintendo Direct, I saw that two games are coming on the Switch. I remember hearing about LiS years ago, but in the end I forgot about it (same happened for example with Dragon's Dogma and Watch Dogs). Seeing the announcement made me interested in the games and I'd like to buy them.

I didn't want to search much about them because I'd for sure be spoiled, but I would like to know more about the gameplay. I like playing and trying all videogames and genres, a part for online only games or most FPS.

Also, I understood that True Colors, which is coming in september, is the newest one. Would it be better to wait for the LiS remaster coming on Switch after that, or they are different stories that can be played without problems (like Dragon Quest or Pokémon)? Thank you in advance!

Edit: I also ask because I saw the trailers on Square's channel getting a lot of dislikes, I don't know if something happened these bad to hate the games, or it was just the bad Square's presentation.

[NO SPOILERS] I MADE A NEW NEW SONG INSPIRED BY 'LIFE IS STRANGE'

    Posted: 20 Jun 2021 02:37 AM PDT

hi! I just put out my first song, which is an ode to the good times of a connection which someone with whom you're very close to.

The song is very inspired by Life Is Strange, in particular, the friendship and bond between Chloe and Max. As tribute, I sampled them in the song, along with aspects of Jonathan Morali's score.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17t3QPAhPwI

If you've ever had a relationship/friendship with someone whom you genuinely loved - the way Chloe and Max loved each other - then I hope you get something out of this song. Hope you enjoy :)

p.s: Shout out to any other Night in the Woods, Donnie Darko and Sleep Token fans!

[NO SPOILERS] Before the Storm Bonus Episode

    Posted: 20 Jun 2021 01:45 AM PDT

I'm looking at buying Before the Storm for the PlayStation store but it doesn't disclose how much the bonus episode "Farewell" actually costs. Does anyone know how much it costs alone after buying the first 3 episodes?
