[NO SPOILERS] Looking for Max and Kate AU Fanfiction

    Posted: 12 Nov 2019 09:40 AM PST

To be more specific, I'm not necessarily talking about fanfics where the two become a couple (though they are my otp in the fandom), I mean stories where Kate replaces Chloe in the game's story. Bonus points if Chloe plays a minor/nonexistent role in the fanfic.

[ALL] LiS1 Vs LiS2 = Apple Pie VS Beef Pie

    Posted: 11 Nov 2019 06:14 PM PST

Some people say that LiS2 is like LiS1 because it has the same basic premise. Of a coming of age with superpowers and various conflicts involved.

    I'd say that's a shallow view of what's relevant.

It's like saying a beef pie is like an apple pie because they are both pies. They are both the basic idea of a pie.

The problem is that it's totally wrong. A beef and apple pie are completely different types of food. One in a savory main course, and one is a sweet dessert. The content is relevant.

It's the same with LiS. The premise doesn't tell you what the substance of the game is. The premise of LiS1 and LiS2 might be similar, but the content of the games are significantly different in type, and it makes them different types of games.

Main point: "Coming of age, with powers and issues to overcome" doesn't make two games the same. It's a shallow shell. The content makes game what they are.

LiS2 lacks in a developing main plot, developing side characters, and worldbuilding. As well as that, main characters relationship development.

LiS2 doesn't build on LiS1 content to be a Life is Strange game. The premise is a shell.

I'd say LiS2 isn't a Life is Strange game in content. It should have been called a separate game, inspired by LiS: Wolf Brothers.

    Agree, disagree?

[S2] I've been a big fan of LiS2 all the way through my current binge play through. But EP4 seems hella weak.

    Posted: 11 Nov 2019 06:11 PM PST

I noticed many of these issues with EP3 as well (I loved 1 and 2).

It feels like this game has pulled a walking dead.

Least character development - Karen showing up and being anticlimactic (with a horrible reveal may I add), almost nothing interesting happens with the reverend or Nicholas, Jacob is gay now ig? We have no reason to care for his little sister, and Daniels arch us "Ahh I'm bad now... Ahh I'm good now". Sean does plenty of reflection but it doesn't grow him as a character almost at all?

Least coherent and interesting plot - It actually seemed like it could be kinda cool (if not a little shark jumpy) at first, but with lack of character development, lack of development of the community, lack of development of the main goal, and lack of brother dynamic that made the other episodes good, this shit is kinda wack.

Least choice - Every choice felt like it led to the same thing. There were even less choices listed at the end percent screen. What is this, fallout? (This also took away the consequence. Those grey screen choices I'd sometimes spend 5-10 minutes making took me a minute or less this time.)

Shortest? This one felt like it couldn't have even taken half the time as EP1. It felt like there was maybe 2 hours of story maybe less if you speed through. This could be a side effect of the other issues though.

I hope the Devs redeem themselves and bring back the charm of the first episodes back.

Also. I'd like some characters I really care about back. Chris and Charles, Claire and Steven, Brody, and MOST OF ALL LYLA COME ON I WISH MY BEST FRIEND WAS THAT COOL.

This'll probably not pick up but I needed to formulate this and get a consensus.

This has also made me realise how much I really hate the episode.
