    [S1] A Certain Phonecall in S1E2

    Posted: 27 Nov 2020 04:25 PM PST

5 year old spoilers for S1 incoming.

So something I think I haven't seen being discussed since about the release of Ep4, which ended with the reveal of Jefferson, is a phonecall he got near the end of the second episode.

For background, this is after Max and Chloe's shooting session at the junkyard, confrontation with Frank, and the trolley problem. As Max heads to the classroom door she watches Kate leave in a hurry sobbing and Jefferson calls Max over. They talk a bit about Kate, Jefferson doles out a bit of victim blaming, and you have the chance to present him with your photographic evidence of Madsen harrassing Kate if you're doing a "Ruin David's Life" speedrun and choose to blame him at the end of the episode.

Just when the topic turns towards Rachel, Jefferson gets a phonecall, tells Max he has to take it, and then walks away. You have the chance to listen in on the call where he sounds incredibly irritated and short with the person, giving one line responses like "Okay." And "Uh-huh." And eventually telling them he has a class he needs to teach and trying to get off the phone - but ultimately this line of dialogue just loops. https://youtube.com/watch?v=9IIGd7UuwU0 here's the vid for those who want a refresher.

At the time a lot of people picked up on it and wondered who it could be. Some theories are clearly jossed now. I'll summarize a few below.

Nathan: the logical conclusion with knowledge of ep4 in mind but this is also illogical as soon as you remember he's hanging with Victoria in class right after this scene. Just two bullies hanging out, not a cellphone in sight, enjoying the moment...

Rachel: this was a popular goto for theorists here based on the evidence at the time - people who still hoped she was alive, Chloe's line of dialogue saying that Rachel had "met someone that would change her life", and Stella's line stating Rachel "absolutely had sex" with Jefferson. Obviously we know now she is an impossible candidate being buried 3 feet under at her and Chloe's old hideout.

Sean Prescott: This is the main suspect that hasn't been completely dropped with the conclusion of season 1. There are still a lot of people left wondering where exactly Nathan's dad fit into the storyline and finger him for the bunker that the two were using for their nefarious art. The issue falls apart a bit as Sean is never an important character, mainly only explained as being an inadequate dad for Nathan and a landgrabbing real estate lord over estates under his name. He's also blamed for the pollution in the bay by the fisherman. So does Sean have any other connection to Jefferson? It seems he's largely ignorant of what Nathan and Jefferson have been up to based on what little we see of him. Is it possible he and the rest had more of a role but it got cut due to time? Some believe this to be the case, especially regarding the storm, the bunker, and Nathan's cut lines about the impending storm.

Stella: Believe it or not there's enough mystery around this character that a lot of people playing Season 1 questioned her at the time. Put on your tinfoil caps and I'll try to recap: I believe the big pieces of evidence are her clear attraction to Jefferson and the fact that her name shows up in Frank's black book with her spending hundreds of dollars on weed, study drugs like Adderall and Speed, etc. However, she is also marked down for hydromorphone and benzodiazepine, two sedatives, and scaringly enough she purchased these two in particular around the Vortex party that saw Kate humiliated. This led a lot of players wondering if there was more than meets the eye to her, particularly as she was also Kate's friend and certainly had the proximity to dose her at said party. As a final note, she's watching the door at the party where Jefferson intends to dose and kidnap Victoria, leaving one to wonder. While most of this is circumstantial most were left wondering if her role was also bigger and subject to cuts due to these seemingly minor events.

The call is a red herring: Maybe the least fun theory I've seen - the caller doesn't matter. Jefferson's just talking to an old friend or maybe colleague. This doesn't explain his somewhat out of character (at the time) impatience and anger directed at the caller.

What do you guys think? Who called Mark Jefferson? Does it matter? Is it part of a bigger scrapped plot? Or is it just a means of ending a conversation? Or is it meant to be an early reveal that Jefferson might not be what he seems?

The Life Is Strange Series has brought so much joy to me. It's an amazing game series. I absolutely love the music used in LIS and music like that. So far LIS has made me find Daughter, Phoenix

Anyone got anymore recommendations based on that type of music.

[NO SPOILERS][S2]Question about buying complete season when I already own first episode

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 05:08 AM PST

I bought Season 2 episode 1 a while ago when it was on sale on Steam and now that it's Black Friday, I'm looking to get the rest of the episodes. I found the complete season for $10.08 at 66% off and episodes 2-5 at $3.40 each at 57% off. If I bought the episodes I don't have it would cost $13.60 vs $10.08 for the complete series.

If I bought the complete season would I just have a duplicate copy of episode 1? Would my choices still copy over? Are there any downsides to doing it this way?

[NO SPOILERS] Need help finding a fanfiction or author please!

    Posted: 27 Nov 2020 12:56 PM PST

Hello Life is Strange community! Thank you for reading and for any help or ideas that you add! Fanfiction Details and possible title: The title was something like "Max and Chloe Good Times". I think it was recently deleted from where I was reading the story but was really hoping to find it again or the author who wrote it. It was pretty lengthy and almost like a collection of cute and fluffy one shots where Chloe would smoke and take Max to their hideout. Punk Chloe but really protective and clingy. Wasn't really a plot to it.
