    So, over Thanksgiving break I played LiS1 for the very first time. Idk how I had managed to evade it all these years -- all I know is that I am so thankful that I finally got to play/experience this masterpiece.

    One thing (among many) that has stuck with me is the gravitas of Kate and her suicide attempt. Regrettably, I was not able to save her, and when she threw herself off the roof, I felt my heart fall to the floor. I was so incredibly distraught, and had a really strong urge to restart, but I didn't.

    And honestly, in a weird way, I'm glad I didn't.

    Up until that point, I had felt a weird "13-Reasons-Why" vibe from the game. The terrors of high school, bullying, etc. etc. After Kate committed suicide, something shifted - the intensity and seriousness of the game kicked into ultra-high gear, showing me that even though Max (and, by extension, me the player) had the power to rewind time, it was still not a guarantee for things to get supremely fucked up. After Ep 2, it seemed like the stakes were incredibly high, and I instantly was terrified for what might befall the other characters.

    On my next playthrough, I will definitely do some things different. Kate WILL survive, but I also have to be thankful of the horrific mistake I made, as the sheer dread and terror after her death was so real and devastating. I know it certainly might not compare to the other choices that come in the later eps, but it was my first big instance of "SHIT...this game will leave me in tears and shreds".

    Anywho, thanks for reading! Feel free to state when the game got 1000x more real for you, or choices that you wanted to revoke, but chose not to (and why).

    There are barely words to express how amazing this piece of art is, and I am completely obsessed. 11/10.

    well the thing is that I have encouraged myself to play LIS1 again 2 years after finishing it now that I have a good pc, it was not something that marked my life like other games but it will live in my mind, I was about to start but then I remembered the end and I wanted to think about what I want to do before playing it again, the first time I played I went the warren route because I wanted max * hetero * and I liked chloe but not doing * scissors *, I sacrificed Chloe because she seemed Right and I did not want other characters that I liked to die like Warren or Kate, Chloe leaving behind that selfishness and teenage tantrum that I did not like about her and being like a heroine, In addition to the heartbreaking ending where all the memories burn and at the funeral I had to endure the desire to cry so as not to make a scandal in my house, now I recently saw on youtube the other ending where you sacrifice arcadia bay and I said what the hell is this I really think that if I had played this blindly with that ending I would have finished disappointed, it is so unsatisfying, bland and unfinished, Chloe who was willing to give her life does not seem upset because you are going to let her mother die and David who just recognized her as her stepfather doing the speech she gave before it was so anticlimactic, there is no single body, no one cleaning up the rubble for survivors or rescue teams? And they both don't seem to care, tell me does that ending really have that bad writing or is it true the rumors that the director lacked budget and time, so the ending ended like this? Damn if I was a film director and had to adapt one of the two endings for the big screen, I would choose the first one I did to make the whole room cry and the message that you can't change things, you just have to accept them and move on. ahead. I want opinions that open my mind more.
