[NO SPOILERS] Would my Mom like Life is Strange?

    Posted: 19 Dec 2020 04:38 PM PST

A few months ago, I showed my dad Detroit: Become Human. I would play the game and he would watch it like a TV Show, influencing some of the decisions I made.

I realized that it could be fun to show more of my parents episodic graphic adventure games, as they can be more enjoyable and impactful than a TV Show but never reaches a TV Show audience.

So I was thinking of playing through Life is Strange with my mom, but I'm not sure if she would like it.

My mom likes Grey's Anatomy, she's been watching through the whole series. She has also watched Riverdale and Stranger Things. My mom can also be a bit judgemental, I'm afraid she might find the characters annoying. Would my mom like Life is Strange?

[All] Endings in LiS 1 got me spiraling...

    Posted: 19 Dec 2020 06:46 PM PST

I think that it is absolutely true that both endings are cannon, but not for the reason of "because Dontnod said so". (Btw big spoilers coming up) In the sacrifice Chloe ending you get a sad sequence of everything you did being undone, with one of the scenes being at the funeral. This scene reminded of how Max never tore the photo in this ending which is why, in my theory, I believe both endings are the same which makes them both cannon. Why would Max keep the photo? To remind her of the friend she let die? Or to have the opportunity to change her mind whenever she wants? ( in LiS 2 I recognize that 3 years pass and Chloe is still definitely dead, but I mean Max still has the power to go back whenever, maybe she had) What I'm trying to say ultimately is, no matter what your morals are there is one true ending that ends the story, sacrificing Arcadia. Ripping the picture is the very first thing Max does, there is no changing what happened, that's it end of story and them driving off is the start of a new story. Sacrificing Chloe leaves you with more questions than answers, what about the photo? Does Kate live? Does Max stay in Arcadia? Does Nathen get out of jail? While in the sacrificing Arcadia ending it is simple, your choices are what they are and stay that way, Chloe and Max leave. No questions except for "what happens after?" And that question can be answered in the comics! Am I right? Or wrong? I need opinions people!

[NO SPOILERS] What other games should I try?

    Posted: 19 Dec 2020 04:54 PM PST

I don't normally enjoy video games, but I LOVED LIS 1.

My hangup with most games is 1. I don't like fighting games, 2. I need characters / story lines to engage with, and 3. I get easily stressed out by time pressure (on platformers for example, or the two scenes where Max is getting chased by people with flashlights).

Other games I've liked were Florence and Portal 2. They have strong story lines, barely any time pressure, and some puzzle solving.

Any ideas of games I might like? 😺

    TIA

The Boi is back with a LIS question. Let's travel to LIS 2. When you did it, what did you do at the tail end of the 3rd episode?

[S2] Sean and Daniel are two fighters. From initial stages to later events, their brotherly spirit has been inspiring. Here's a music video showing their toughest moments, to a piano version of 'In The End' by the Black Veil Brides.
