    [S1] Max’s Photograph

    Posted: 06 Mar 2021 05:20 AM PST

Right, Max's photo. I think it's a really cool photo. I like the framing and how she's out of focus, compared to the photos on the wall. It's cute, and very much a quintessential 2014 tumblr post.

But what makes it a worthy candidate for an Everyday Heroes competition? And why are so many people absolutely gagging over her photo in particular?

Apologies if discussions like this have already occurred on this sub before (I'm sure they have, just couldn't find any)

[ALL] Whose story makes you more depressed?

    Posted: 06 Mar 2021 06:39 AM PST

By ending I meant like the way the pair's story 'ended'. For example, Max and Chloe's with the Bay ending, Rachel and Chloe's with the... yeah, and Victoria and Nathan's ending if you had warned Victoria. The fact that all of these best friends/lovers pairings died together or had to live without the other is just sad.

But whose story makes you more depressed about when you think about them?

    [NO SPOILERS] Remaster

It's super unlikely but I think it would be cool if the game got the same treatment as the walking dead season one and got a full graphic update. Having things like the animation and lip synch improve would benefit the game and idk I think it would be sick. And TWD also had some new content so that could also be cool.

[ALL] S1 Theory: It WAS NOT Max's Storm!

    Posted: 05 Mar 2021 04:25 PM PST

Sure, Max claims that it's her storm, but I feel it isn't. Whose storm do I think it is?

    Sean Prescott.

All of the weather and solunar effects that are attributed to Max's use of her power can be attributed instead to the Prescott family. There is an unexplored (and discarded by the developers) plot point which connects the Prescotts to the storm.

    • Dana in episode 4 says that Sean Prescott is extremely rich. This claim is supported by the invoice in the Dark Room that reveals its construction cost $1.35 million, and is signed off by Sean Prescott. Mark Jefferson also implies that Sean Prescott paid not just for the construction of the bunker, but for the equipment there as well.

    • Officer Berry states Sean Prescott has been working on some new big land deals. This supports Joyce's claim below.

    • Joyce in the alternate timeline of episode 4 says that Sean Prescott "won't be happy until he owns everything in Arcadia Bay."

    • Principal Wells, in the conversation with him at the gallery in episode 5, says that Mr Prescott brought Mark Jefferson to Blackwell.

I should make a note about the alternate timelines. The strange effects (snow, eclipse, dying animals, the Storm) occur in all timelines except the one where Max lets Chloe die in the girls' bathroom. It's presumed the Storm occurs in the "Paralyzed Chloe" timeline, though this is not confirmed.

So, here's my theory: Sean Prescott, either by himself or in collaboration with an unknown actor, has developed a means to control the weather. The ultimate purpose is to destroy Arcadia Bay, buy up the abandoned properties at a steep discount, then rebuild the town under the Prescott brand. The effects the changing weather has on the animals is an unfortunate side effect.

Now, this means of controlling the weather does not have an immediate effect, sometimes taking a few hours from when the command is issued.

So, here's my idea of what happens during the events of the story.

In the story's main timeline, Nathan confronts Chloe in the bathroom, but is distracted by the fire alarm long enough to allow Chloe to push him away from her and escape. He notices the pieces of Max's selfie on the floor before leaving. He later confronts Max, but is interrupted by Chloe. Warren seizes this opportunity to fight with Nathan, giving Max a chance to escape with Chloe. By the time the events of episode 4 take place, Nathan knows the storm is coming, probably because his father told him about it. After the second fight with Warren, he meets with Mr Jefferson in the Dark Room. Jefferson, who knows that the truth about Rachel, Kate, and Victoria has been discovered by Max and Chloe, blames Nathan for this mess and threatens to kill him. Nathan escapes, but Jefferson chases him. Nathan finds a hiding spot and leaves the voicemail message to Max. Jefferson kills Nathan then goes to the party to announce the winner of the contest. He has Nathan's phone with him, and after learning that Max and Chloe are looking for Nathan, he uses the phone to send a message to Chloe after she leaves the party. Jefferson arrives at the junkyard and eventually drugs Max, kills Chloe, then takes Max (and possibly Victoria) to the Dark Room. By the time Max escapes the Dark Room, the storm has arrived.

In the Gallery timeline, David assists police in apprehending Jefferson, but this does not deter Sean Prescott from executing his plan. He's under investigation, but that will be fruitless once the police department turns up… missing… and caught in the Storm.

In the Bae Ending timeline, Nathan is still dead, but Sean Prescott is probably out looking for him and gets caught in the Storm. This is probably why Arcadia Bay hasn't been rebuilt by three years later, the time Brody and the Wolf Brothers pass through.

In the Bay Ending timeline, Nathan is arrested after the incident in the bathroom. Jefferson is also arrested. It's likely Sean Prescott's investigation is hastened, or he's distracted trying to get his son out of jail. Whatever the reason, Sean Prescott is unable to execute the plan, so the Storm, the snow, the eclipse, the double moon, the dying animals… none of that happens.
