[ALL] Spare a moment of calm...

    Posted: 24 May 2021 10:42 AM PDT

So I feel like it's a popular opinion amongst many people that the first LiS is the fan favorite in the whole franchise. But I wanted to give a spotlight to BtS and LiS2 and how impactful these two games are. I love hearing about how different stories affect different people and I've always loved reading how the original LiS impacted people's lives in a positive way and I want to give the space for people to share those experiences and thoughts with BtS and/or LiS2 since I feel like these two games get talked about a little less than the original.

So feel free to spare a moment of calm and share some of your thoughts!

For me, BtS really had me on a rollercoaster of emotions and I loved it! I was definitely on the cautious side when I first started it because I loved the original LiS so much so I was scared that BtS wouldn't hold up. But it was a great experience to see how BtS complimented LiS perfectly. I really felt that BtS was necessary to understand why Chloe is the way she is. I loved watching Chloe navigate the ups, downs, and social awkwardness of a young teenager. I honestly loved Chloe's character more after playing BtS because I was able to see a more vulnerable version of her.

I also loved meeting Rachel and seeing how she fit in Chloe's life more than just being the girl on the missing person's poster. I know there's a lot of debate about Rachel in general, but I personally thought that her relationship with Chloe has it's own charm. I think just like how the LiS and BtS are complimentary, it was nice the way the devs chose to spotlight Chloe and Rachel's relationship as one that burned strong and fast while Max and Chloe's was more slow and paced out. I feel like it made it all the more relatable showing how different people react and come together in different ways at different points in life. And I gotta admit, I found a lot of the romance aspects in BtS to be very cute and endearing. Like Rachel's improvisation of The Tempest?! So well done and a beautiful moment to experience as the player to be confused with Chloe at first at the incorrect lines, only to be surprised with something even greater. And Chloe making the stars shine in Rachel's room was something so heartwarming and beautiful. Regardless of any differing opinions about their relationship, there are many moments between them that made the entire story more human.

Chloe's journey of struggling to navigate being alone along with her struggle to understand her feelings with Rachel and her life at home are things that can be so personal and all struck a chord with me in my personal life. Just seeing her have these flaws and make these mistakes, yet still being a very lovable character was huge for me to see and experience. I think the whole LiS franchise does a great job at having that effect with a lot of their characters, being so flawed and making so many mistakes along the way yet still being a favorite character to someone in the world.

But overall, I just fell in love with the charm BtS carried. There was something about not having to rely heavily on supernatural, life or death choices yet still being very emotionally engaging that was satisfying. Just the coming of age story of this character we already knew and loved was enough to create a life changing experience that really sticks with you long after you finish playing. It's become my personal favorite of the franchise because it has so much heart.

[ALL] I can't get an optional photo in LiS 1

    Posted: 24 May 2021 07:34 AM PDT

I played trough the game, and saw that I haven't got some achivements, despite playing it 100%. I googled, and it turned out that this happens when playing with an controller. So I collected the last few pictures with my mouse and keyboard. But there's one photo I can't get anymore - the bottles from Max's nightmare. I tried the collector mode, I tried replaying it on the same, and on another savefile, but the bottles remain broken, from when I took the picture first (Haven't got the achivement there because I played with a controller). Is there any way to fix this? I don't really want to reinstall the game and replay it entirely

[NO SPOILERS] Say there was a -Life is Strange Part II- that followed Max and Chloe after the events of the first game. What stylistic choices would you want the most to set Part II apart from the original game, and the rest of the sequels?

This just a general list, pick the one you like the most, and if you have a couple or a new choice, please leave it down in the comments! The poll is just for some brain stimulation, I want it to be just a melting pot of ideas down there

[ALL] it’s been a while since I played the original game, and I can’t remember...

    Posted: 23 May 2021 06:22 PM PDT

It's been a while since I played the original game and I can't recall something

So I don't rly have time to replay or watch the game right now, but I was trying to recall why letting Chloe die = saving the town? I know there was a storm and all but my memory really sucks; why exactly did letting Chloe die end up saving everyone?
