    [S1 E2] What Max was really thinking…

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 11:03 AM PST

[ALL] Finally played Life is Strange 2 and absolutely loved it!

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 04:53 AM PST

I really enjoyed Life is Strange and Before the Storm and I ended up enjoying Life is Strange 2 just as much. (I waited for all episodes to come out before playing it.)

Firstly, I really liked the two protagonists. I especially grew to love Sean in the fourth episode, where his determination to find Daniel made me realize how much he was willing to sacrifice for his younger brother. Beforehand, I thought he was a little too mean to Daniel when we didn't control him.

Speaking of … Daniel! I loved him so much, he quickly became my number one priority. I wanted to be the best big brother in the world and it paid of because Daniel was the best little brother in the world. He always helped and listened to my Sean, probably because I teached him to be a good person – I never stole anything and never hurt anyone. However, when the choice came to surrender or force the road block, I did the latter because there was NO WAY I would surrender after everything we did to reach the border. However, Daniel didn't agree with my plan and basically gave up his own freedom just so Sean could drink cocktails from coconuts with Finn. :-( I cried like a bitch during this ending and cried even more after playing the Redemption ending. Haven't watched the other endings yet, since I want to get them by myself.

The side characters were another thing I enjoyed. Lyla was an awesome best friend, of course I had to call her in Episode 1 and 2. Wish her role was bigger. Brody was a cool dude, almost too good to be true. Claire was a little strict, but Stephen was trustworthy enough for me to talk about Daniel's power. Seeing Chris and Charles again put a smile on my face, especially after I managed to get a genuine conversation with them. (Played Captain Spirit when it came out and right before starting Life is Strange 2, so I remembered all the toys.)

Finn and Cassidy were awesome love interests! I kissed Finn and really loved how that affected later dialogue with Esteban, Jacob and Daniel. But after replaying the scene to see how the Cassidy romance looks like, I think it's a little unfair that Cassidy got a sex scene with Sean, while Finn only got a kiss – equal rights for everybody, please! (Btw, I was one of the 5% who said that the heist was Sean's idea because I didn't want to blame my boyfriend or the others.)

Oh, Esteban and Jacob! Esteban was an awesome father, so of course he had to die. :-( And Jacob really deserved a hug from Sean. Technically, he got one in the end of Episode 4, but I wanted a real, player-controlled hug. His sister was really sweet too.

Karen's motives were a little weird, but I ended up liking her. It was also good to see David again, he's one of my favorite Life is Strange characters. (Not that he's a nice guy, but I love troubled characters, haha.)

There were only two things I really didn't like: Mushroom's cheap death and the cutting weed mini-game in Episode 3. Is it just me or was it super hard?

I can't wait to play the whole game again with different choices, I'm curious how that changes my experience!

[no spoilers] I have an idea for LiS3

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 03:20 AM PST

Just spitballing. What if in the next installment:

-Takes place on the east coast

    -super power is shape shifting

-the character deals with issues of self worth and initially uses the power to make themself more attractive, but learns to use it for potentially dangerous things like in the game Prototype, should the player choose. Though not as violent or graphic of course

-attends college as like a 19 year old studying film(to keep the artistic part of the series alive)

-main drive of the story would involve some sort of mystery that the protagonist uses their power to solve it since they would be affected somehow.

-at some point, maybe episode 2 or 3, the protagonist would notice instances of other people with powers cropping up, or even just news stories of strange happenings to indicate such, but this would not overtake the story

-David Madsen round 3, now he works at subway or something

-depending on your choices, a cameo of previous protags

    [S2 E2] Meanings behind references - FROZEN

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 01:28 PM PST

As most of us who played Captain Spirit know, Chris references the movie Frozen (along with an ice queen in his tree fort). I found it pretty cool because the episode he appears in kinda alluded to the movie as well. The sibling relationship, and the "conceal, don't feel" rule— or in Daniel's case, "don't show, don't talk". In the episode, a vital part of it was whether we repressed Daniel's power or not, and if we hid the truth about the power from Chris. Those two things are what mostly make up the endings for the episode. In Frozen, it was about sisterly love and Elsa's fear of her own powers (of how others would react, and fear of hurting others). The more she repressed her powers, the worse things got for her. So I was inclined to believe that we should encourage Daniel to use his powers, and to fork off the rules. But this only led to Chris almost getting hit by a car and Daniel saving him, these endings where Chris helps them escape and Chris almost getting hit have been argued to be the best endings. They're both great in their own way. The worst ending that most agreed on was Chris actually getting hit— which happens if we both repress the powers and hide the truth.

[NO SPOILERS] My LiS anniversary is approaching!

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 08:33 AM PST

This is customary for me, I like to replay the game yearly on my first full completion anniversary. It's that melancholic period of the year when I take a few days to spend with Life Is Strange. The first time was Life Is Strange Season 1 finished on January 15th, 2017. I replayed it one year later around the same date and enjoyed as much as the first time. Then in 2019, I included Before The storm and really loved that addition to the story/universe. Now as the next play-through is approaching i'm looking forward to include Season 2 as well. As I meant to play it for a while now but was waiting for it to be fully released. I wonder which order I should do this time around. Was thinking to go chronologically with Before The Storm -> S1 -> S2 but maybe that's boring? Maybe I can start with S2 then replay the games i already know after. What do you guys suggest?

Best wishes for 2020 to all the /lifeisstrange community, stay amazing <3

[S1 E3] Question about the ending

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 04:11 AM PST

So when Max travels to the past by using the photo we can see that she's in the Vortex club and friends with Nathan, Victoria and others. So simple question: why? Why keeping the William alive would mean that Max changes somehow and likes Vortex club and it's members in that timeline? Is there any reason?

[ALL] Playing through LiS 2. Good so far. One complaint.

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 08:03 AM PST

It's kinda lame. I like playing as Sean and everything. But, so far (mostly through episode 2) all I'm doing is fucking babysitting and cleaning my grandparents house. Like motherfuck. I just did that for a whole week over Christmas in real life. Max was out there making MOVES, dude. Snooping on people, skipping class, and macking on punk-rock bitches.

Just could used a bit more dumb high school drama and a little less life on the lamb right off the bat. Still early though. Hope it gets better.

In Episode 1 where Max is in her dorm playing the guitar i was wondering what song she actually covers so i played the game again to get to that scene and holy shit i didnt expect that i stg she is covering Crosses by Jose Gonzalez so what im thinking is that did they use a cover in Ep 1 and then the original song in Ep 2? That fucking blew my mind xD🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶

    [S2 E3] A question about Daniel

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 12:31 PM PST

Okay, so, to get the best possible outcome in the game I'm guessing you have to raise Daniel well, teaching him not to steal etc. My question is: when you break into Merrill's, does it count as teaching him stealing is okay? I feel like he's going to go even if I say no. I already sided with Cass cause I'm an idiot.
