    I'm a grown man but this game hit so hard, I feel sad somehow. Has anyone experienced this? I don't think a game has ever impacted me that much on an emotional level like this. Feel like I want to hug the character and tell Her everything will be okay. It's just a game though! I'll start with LIS tomorrow. Wonder how this will turn out.

    [ALL] Max could possibly save Chloe AND Arcadia Bay?

    So clearly at the end of the season you are given the option to either sacrifice Chloe or sacrifice Arcadia Bay, but technically wouldn't you be able to save both if given the option?

    Max's rewind power is what caused the storm in the first place. So given that, Chloe wants Max to go back in time using the butterfly photo to basically "undo" receiving/ever using her rewind power so that the storm doesn't happen. So if you do so, you travel back in time back to the bathroom scene basically undoing everything you have ever done past that, since Max already knows that Chloe is going to get shot technically she could stop it from happening without ever having to use her rewind power simply by using the fire alarm technique she used in the first episode. This wouldn't be "delaying" Chloe's fate because it is simply another possibility that could have happened in that reality without ever having to use the rewind power. I mean cause c'mon, who would just sit behind the stalls and let, an at the time, "random girl" get shot? Hopefully nobody, so saving Chloe without using the rewind power ever is a valid possibility.

    Now, in this timeline she does not have her rewind power because her reaching out to stop Nathan in the bathroom is what created/caused it to happen. So if she simply does not reach out, it prevents her from getting her rewind power which prevents the storm from happening. Now if she somehow found out that she did acquire her rewind powers for what ever reason she simply would just not ever have to use them to prevent the storm from happening. She would have to act as if they never existed.

    Backtrack, since Max has gone through plenty of alternate realities she acquired the information that Mark Jefferson is the bad guy. So in this reality where she doesn't have her rewind power and Chloe is alive without her having to use her rewind power ever she could report everything she knows to the cops and bust Nathan and Jefferson.

    Sorry for such a long read but I hope this makes sense and someone else agrees :]

    A change of taste in magazines? (Links to my Imgur)

    So I noticed that the magazines on the floor of Chloe's bedroom, as well as in the box on her bed, change both subtly and distinctly pre-alternate timeline jump and post-alternate timeline jump. In essence, before we jump into the alternate timeline, Chloe's magazines show a strong bend toward science, showing how much of a science nerd she is (although there are still music magazines, they aren't as prominent in the box and on the floor in episodes 1 through 3.) But when we return to our beloved blue haired Chloe from the alternate timeline, the science magazines almost virtually disappear, save for one or two that you can glimpse on Chloe's desk under her laptop if you look closely, suggesting that, though we may have restored things to the way they were, not everything in the world is a hundred percent the same again--that Max returned to a timeline where Chloe isn't as huge a science geek as she is in the first timeline nor alternate reality.

    [S1 E4] Do we think Max could do this?

    While Max is in an alternate timeline – e.g. when she visits Chloe after her car accident – would it be theoretically possible for her to use her phone that she has at that time to record video of, say, Chloe sending a message to her 'current timeline' blue-haired self, Explaining what happened to her.

    Then, the idea being that since Max's possessions don't travel with her when she jumps into a different timeline, Max hides that phone where she knows it won't be found or disturbed – say, under the floorboards in Chloe's room.

    She could then use the photo to jump back to the current timeline, go to the place where she hid the phone, and show Chloe the message that she recorded to herself in the alternative timeline. Mind. Blown.

    Thoughts?

    So I noticed something different about Chloe's stash of magazines pre-jumping into alternate timeline, and post-jumping into alternate timeline. In short, if you check out her magazine stash in her room in Episodes 1 and 3, the science magazines are pretty prominent and very blatantly placed front and centre in the box and on the floor in Chloe's bedroom. However, if you look again after you return from the alternate timeline in episode 4, the science magazines are almost virtually gone (except for a couple on Chloe's desk if you look closely.) I feel like DONTNOD wouldn't have made such a subtle yet noticeable change without reason, showing how little things will still change, and even if Max lets William die (and thus, Chloe doesn't get in that accident), the world isn't exactly 100 percent the same again.

    In essence: while the Chloe we see on our return from the alternate universe is pretty much exactly as we remember her, blue hair and attitude and all, she isn't as big a science geek as she is in the alternate timeline or in the first three episodes.

    Butterfly effect indeed.
