    [ALL] why can Max mess with time in the first place? (Please read the entire thing if you’re going to respond)

    Okay this is gonna be somewhat long winded. I tend to revisit this game a lot. I don't know why. I suppose I think I'm gonna find some weird hidden gem that I didn't notice before. Only thing is... I always come away with more questions. It's a complex story for sure. Recently i was trying to understand the whole eclipse thing and found one particular explication that made the most sense to me written by Flavastulta on a steam forum. They start by stating pretty much exactly what i was thinking: "Dead birds and sea animals, ok, strange, but not unheard of. But an eclipse when there is none scheduled? This is impossible." I read this thinking YES, exactly. They go on by talking about how it means something is effed on an astronomical scale, more specifically "It means that the moon is not where it is supposed to be". I'm normally not big into big elaborate fan theories because my usual feeling is like 'dude, it's a game. It doesn't fit the rules of reality because the fact is it's not reality and creators make mistakes like everyone else'. That being said... for some reason that didn't satisfy me this time. This game is so well thought out i guess i felt like there had to be a good reason... Flavastulta had this to say. : "Every time Max uses her power, the ENTIRE EARTH rewinds. There is no way this is just a local effect, otherwise Arcadia Bay would be out of sync with the rest of the world "hella" fast. Yet the moon and the rest of the solar system are not affected. Which leads to the moon being not where it is supposed to be." That actually makes a lot of sense, and i bet they considered this when making the game... My latest issue however is this... why is Max able to reverse time in the first place? I know her power is sort of set in motion by Chloe being shot, but people witness crazy traumatic shit all the time... why this specific ability? And why Max? I mean we could say it's because max is just cool... but that's really not a satisfying answer. I honestly think the creators probably asked this question... it's too central to the story to outright ignore.
