    [ALL] What is the worst thing a character has ever said to someone?

    By worst it could range from morbid, disturbing, disgusting, insensitive, horrible things that should never be said to someone especially with context etc... basically lines that made you just 'wtf??' or made your blood boil.

    For example in LiS for me it was:

    David: For your own good, you should stay away from Chloe. She's a loser and she'll only drag you down.

    And then BtS it was:

    Rachel: But maybe she's different now. People change, right?

    James: Maybe so. But consider that for 15 years, she's preferred that money to you.

    And

    David: We don't have to like each other, but you will respect me. You've enjoyed enough of a vacation from having a father figure.

    Feel free to explain why they're horrible too. I know that unfortunately a lot of people didn't see anything wrong in what David said in BtS especially while they were playing the game.

    the first time I heard this i thought it was from the game, but after carefully looking through the tracks it was not there. I don't know why but it fits the game somehow, with the vibe and melody. Wish it was in the game

    Does anyone think that SE will eventually announce a collector's edition for TC? Or have you read anything regarding this info? I have the CE for the previous games and was looking forward to getting it for the newest installment, but if I remember correctly, the CE was announced at the same time the game was announced, so it's looking like a big fat no. I am still super excited for the newest game, but a little sad if I can't add a new collector's edition to my shelf.

    [All] Just finished LiS1 & BtS: I am done with the series forever*

    I originally played S1E1 back in Feb of 2015, but I don't like episodic releases so left the game and forgot about it... until 25 March 2021. I played through all of LiS and loved the characters. I had to reload and look up the answers for Kate Marsh, as I couldn't let her die! However I'm an 'ending is paramount' person, so when I got to that last choice... I didn't like it.

    • Save the Bay felt like a plothole. Max has always been consistent; she kept her memories of alternate timelines. They always happened. She always used her powers in order to get those memories. Save the Bay is not returning to the original timeline, just another alternate, except she didn't use her powers this time. The storm should still happen due to all the other times.
    • Save Chloe felt like it lacked budget and any closure whatsoever... Did anyone survive? What about all those you helped during the storm itself? There's no bodies. Nothing. It is like the rapture.

    I've always chosen the best numerical-good in decisions like this, but did not choose Save the Bay due to how it felt like a plothole. But then I was so... disappointed with the end I got, that I went back and chose the other. And was equally disappointed. So the endings aside, I thoroughly enjoyed the journey. I immediately went on to play BtS.

    _________ Before the Storm

    I love the Backtalk mechanic, though I wish some of its uses would worsen the situation, even if you succeeded (I never encountered this if it had, but whenever the option popped, it always felt like a "I win" option, regardless of context). Now I won't lie, I prefer BtS over LiS1. Just like Chloe, I crushed on Rachel. So fun, charismatic and pretty. I genuinely hoped there was a way to break canon and have her survive.

    I really liked the ending, even though I didn't get my alternate, it felt right, justified. I even loved the juxtaposition with the ringing mobile! My only real issue was just how dense Chloe was at the Overlook / Junkyard. It clicked immediately that it was Rachel's father! I didn't mind the inconsistences too much, as I knew it was made by a different studio when I went in, and expected there would be some issues due to being a prequel.

    Then came the Farewell / Bonus episode. It didn't click for me that this happened on the car crash day until Joyce came home. But I was already sad at the loss of Rachel, and knowing everything Chloe was to go through, this episode just wrenched the heart so much!

    _________ After the games

    When I finished LiS, I looked up what people thought of the ending for a couple hours. When I finished BtS, I spent so many hours looking into opinions on Rachel (is she manipulative, did she cheat on Chloe, does she have powers, etc). This was the exact point I realised the extent of Rachel's manipulation, intentional or not (I wrote off Eliot's warnings as he went obsessed). This was when I realised just how well written the characters are in both games; everyone has their issues, their flaws. Hell, all except Jefferson and Damon had positive qualities!

    The ending of BtS almost made me cry, and I've been in a quagmire of sadness ever since. I hoped that Farewell was going to give me some kind of bitter happiness or hope. How foolish I was. When I finished Farewell, I did even more research into all things BtS / LiS1. But this time I was looking for a source of happiness. I knew these games could give me some happiness; they did it before, like the DnD game, the Kiss and generally most of the time spent with Rachel!

    But I found nothing but more sadness. This was when I stumbled upon a post pointing out that the Save Bay ending meant that the last time Chloe saw Max was at the funeral of her father! That stung. I started to delve into fan theories. Rachel being the Storm lightened the sadness and would fix my plothole in LiS, but apparently it is confirmed by the devs that Rachel has no powers? Deep into that quagmire now. I even tried watching a (well-made) fan video that gives LiS a happy ending! That made it worse.

    And yet it is funny, in a dark way. Here I am using lies and fabrications to try and achieve happiness, even though I decided to tell Rachel the truth at the hospital, because I thought "living a happy lie is worse than the truth". What makes this even funnier, is that I felt I shared a lot of personality traits with Max, the romantic hopelessness of Chloe... and now the desire to escape, just like Rachel.

    And that brings me to my post's title... I love these games, flaws and all. No media has made me feel so strongly. But I can't do it. To me, this series, Life is Strange... is Arcadia Bay and her inhabitants. I don't have it in me to build new connections with the other LiS games. I can't go through that again. Hell, the gamer in me is curious of the other paths in BtS and LiS1, but feeling this sadness, knowing the outcomes... I can't do it again. I can't witness their fleeting happiness again. Or bear to watch their pain and suffering another time.

    The asterisk in the title? I want to see these characters happy. Living their best. And like with Before the Storm, how I knew the ending but foolishly hoped for a canon-breaking happy ending... I would play a new game based on these characters. I want them happy. Be it another prequel / sequel, or even a spin-off based in one of the alternate timelines. I would delve deeper into this quagmire on the slightest hope to see these characters again. But Happy.

She just finished an LP of Life is Strange last week and is doing Before the Storm now, nearing the end of Episode 2. She's gotten REALLY into the storyline and has been very entertaining to watch!

    This title got me thinking for a while but there's no that much of information reveal (I'm talking about amount of episodes, stuff like that) Maybe it can be like BtS. And for being honest (sorry for what imma about to say) I'm not THAT excited about this new power. I mean, actually is always the story that makes great the lis saga, so imma wait until September to find out. Anyways, did someone thought about this too? Or I'm just overthinking it? lol sorry 😭

    Ngl these game's had my interest especially with the super powers and story tilling but they seemed to emotional for my taste and from what I understand you have to pay for all the chapters. Now is that true do you have to pay for the storied if so how much. Will the chapters be free after a while like is it a early access thing? Might get the new one idk yet
