[ALL] What would be your alternate ending for the games? Posted: 24 Jun 2021 12:12 PM PDT Since the LiS universe acknowledges the idea of different universes and alternate timelines, what would be your alternate timeline/ending that you would have liked to see our beloved characters live through? This is open to any of the LiS games: Life is Strange, Before the Storm, and Life is Strange 2. [link] [comments]
[ALL] If you can make multiple endings for LIS1, what will they be? Posted: 24 Jun 2021 09:35 AM PDT In LIS2, there're 4 endings with 7 variations. So I wonder if multiple endings could work for LIS1, meanwhile the initial two endings were kept. I did think if Chloe was treated badly, she would refuse to sacrifice herself for Arcadia Bay. If Max still chose to sacrifice Chloe against Chloe's will, Max eventually felt guilty and not able to move on from her loss. In the opposite, if Chloe was being treated so well. she prefer to sacrifice herself to save Arcadia Bay, meanwhile she believed her mother deserved to live much more than her. If Max still chose to sacrifice Arcadia Bay, their relationship deteriorates from positive to neutral or negative because of Joyce's death. I saw some suggestions that both Chloe & Arcadia Bay were saved by Max sacrificing herself. Max time-travelled back to the bathroom, she went to intervene Nathan and then Nathan shot Max instead. Despite Chloe was saved, she was emotionally destroyed as she sees Max was shot (Max died or ended up in coma) and later knows about Rachel's death (her body was discovered after Nathan denounced Jefferson's actions as he was arrested for school-shooting, Nathan also felt more horrified as he shot a bystander.) Chloe lived on alone in grief while knowing both of her close friends were killed, and possibly went for self-destruct path. Anymore thoughts? I don't think there can be a happy ending since all LIS endings are bittersweet or very sad. [link] [comments]

[S2] Thoughts on Season 2 - spoilers Posted: 24 Jun 2021 02:39 AM PDT I've just finished Season 2 and wanted to put down some thoughts. I don't have anyone IRL that's played it to discuss so thought I'd make a post, hope it's okay even though these points have probably been argued to death here! First, I thought removing the time travel mechanic was a big risk that didn't really pay off. It was so effective in S1 as a story telling device but also as a game play device. You get to experience far more of the game by replaying all the conversations again and again. Here it was very cumbersome to replay chapters and you'd have to wade through a whole level again if you made a mistake you wanted to change. Now I get that the developers are probably making a comment on how in real life you have to live with your choices, but personally I didn't like this change. Second, I'm sorry but Daniel was a very frustrating character. I get that he's a kid, but cmon man. In episode 3 when he completely blows it by sneaking into the lounge - what the fuck! The "brotherhood" mechanic was supposed to manage situations like this, but what's the point in trying to be the best brother and constantly putting his interests above Sean's (which is how I tried to play it) when he's just gonna fuck you over regardless. Maybe I'm being too hard on him but stuff like that made me really dislike the character and made it tough for me to have Sean make sacrifices for him when he just persistently was not reciprocating any sort of loyalty. For example I found it annoying in episode 4 when Daniel refuses to leave the cult initially, I'd have thought that a high brotherhood would mean that Daniel should try leave with Sean right away (they could have manufactured some other contrivance to keep him there like a veiled threat about Sarah or something). Third and finally, I'm sorry but the endings are so BS. I got the redemption + Lyla and Karen ending. So your reward for being a good brother and a moral person is for Sean to spend 15 years in prison and come out a shell of a man? I know there are arguments why prison wouldn't have been so bad (his family, ability to draw lots etc) but it's still prison and he's clearly been majorly affected by it in a negative way. And what was Sean's sacrifice for? So Daniel can have a good life? That might've worked for me if I didn't think Daniel was a little asshole (my personal view please don't hate me). I don't think everything should have a happy fairy tale ending, but I struggle with setting up a morality system that results in the main character getting boned if they tick all the boxes of what the game deems the moral choice. As I was playing I really expected that the moral choices would have some sort of payoff at the end, for instance all the characters you interact with ultimately vouch for your moral character and veracity so that a jury in his trial end up believing his story and find that he didn't do anything wrong and acquit him or something. Would give some meaning to saving Chris, Sarah Lee, and Finn, being honest to Torres and not knocking Joey out, etc. but instead your reward for moral character is just heartbreaking and honestly kind of bad faith story telling. Despite everything I've said I obviously enjoyed the overall experience otherwise I wouldn't have finished it. Just wanted to express those thoughts. I'm also excited about True Colours and the remaster. [link] [comments]

Posted: 23 Jun 2021 03:43 PM PDT For example, Max's time rewinding power had the best narrative integration, because it was the crux of the story, and the inciting incident. Sean and Daniel's story began with the telekinetic powers, but imo had poor integration into the narrative. Alex's power has some promise to it, but only time will tell. [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Jun 2021 02:00 PM PDT So after finishing LIS1 and BTS in a "short" time, I needed some free time to do LIS2. Sadly I wasn't able to do things like for the 2 other game with a post by episodes because "no time for it, thanks job..." But I didn found sometime to play and finish it, and now I can tell why the opinions on LIS 2 are so split. Some loves it some hates it... and to be honest if LIS1/bts didn't had left such good moment and memories I wouldn't had tried it. When the trailers were released back in the day, the game always looked much less interesting to me than the Max/Chloe Stories, I found the characters much less charismatic and the general story no that much interesting... So I wans't that much "warm" for it. Then I played LIS1 and BTS who left their mark, awesome stories, characters and really special games on their own. I choose to do LIS2 for the sake of doing the trilogy, and I didn't took the opinions of players in count, with the mised feelings about it. When I started Episode 1 and until the end of this one, I though, "well good game but where's the LIS magic?" Characters where nice but clearly not as much attaching than Max & co, and the beginning somehow a bit rushed... You end up yourself in a runaway, with no real explaination on the game play itself (especialy your influence on Daniel) And between the cop death and the gas station it give you quickly a feeling of only crap stuff is happening. So the negative opinions did have a valid point somehow... And then, the magic did happen with episode 2. Seing Chris again from Captain spirit was really nice, a chapter with a better rythm, and the meeting of Cass and Finn. The end of the episode is pretictable but works. Episode 3 is surely the best. All the time along the drifters, and some really nice moment between the brothers, and then the LIS curse is comming full force again. "Epsiode 3 ending should break you!!" And it did, once again one of those "what the??" moment that LIS can do. The other episodes always goes better and in the end you really get hooked with the Diaz brothers, Episode 4 didn't betray his "legacy" with some really wierd and chocking moment, and episode 5 even strating really peacefully does gives you a thrilling ending(s). So Yes, in the end I liked the game a lot and I did have my LIS depression after finishing it. The game is not perfect and I can see 3 "big" flaws that makes some player not liking it.
And I think those point do give a different tune to the game, but sometimes makes you feel you've passed aside of something. IMO I would add that the lact of a "permanent vilain" character like we had with Jeffercrap and Damon was a bit underwhelming IMO. But still, with all this I still really loved the game who had grown up on me the more I played it. Technicaly the game is a huge step froward, and as usual the music is just killing it again. Is that some Gorillaz in my LIS? awesome! And some song Like Nathalie from Milk & Bone are still in my head. The best thing being Cassidy's song in the market who's great and the Outro of the episode giving you the original song is just perfect. So I you don't know I you should play this game, I would say yes. I know it may feel really different from the 1st games, but as someone really not much interested about it the game at first, it really grown up on me and offered me some really good moments, so it's not prefect but really need to be tried... And for the curious one I got the ending with Sean reaching pouerto lobos and Daniel being by his grand parents. I changed My choice on a different save and got the ending with Sean being in jail... Yeah those games still knows how to hit you right in the feels. [link] [comments]
[ALL] How do you imagine a meeting between Max, Chloe and the Diaz brothers? Posted: 23 Jun 2021 02:11 PM PDT I bet that Max and Daniel would play together and talk about nerdy stuff. Chloe and Sean, on the other hand, would drink something and talk about life. [link] [comments] |
